"Underwater Reflections"
Craig Sherman, Post Doctoral Fellow
This underwater shot of a local rock pool shows a group of sea anemones, Actinia tenebrosa. With the tide just coming in the anemones have extended their tentacles to feed on planktonic animals brought into the rock pool by the tide. This species reproduces primarily by asexual reproduction and it is likely that many of the individuals in this shot belong to a single clone.
