"Mummel Gulf in the Mist"

Mummel Gulf National Park is a National Park located to the southeast of Walcha in the New England area of NSW. The park was formerly State Forest and was the site of extensive protests over forestry harvesting in the mid 1990s due to biodiversity impacts in this almost exclusively old growth forest and thus hollow rich. Luckily Mummel Gulf NP was gazetted in January 1999, along with around 30 others. This park contains an extremely high density of hollow dependent fauna and is often cloaked in fog, giving an even grander scale to the already tall forest.
