2070. Sea ice gone. Baby bergs hold on. Islands uncovered. One last peninsula stretches into the Antarctic sea. The last view for this once cold and icy landscape will be the Great Burning to the north. Earth just heated up too much.
2008. 11.30pm we are still working in the field. Photographing moss and lichen for a permanent record, to locate again in five years and detect any changes with climate change. Streaks of pink and orange hit the snow hard; we turn, and are witness to the most amazing Midnight sun at Robinson's Ridge. Let’s hope she stays this beautiful forever.
