I'm using a technique called Baited Underwater Video, to survey types offish that live along rocky reefs, inside Jervis Bay Marine Park. Fish are attracted to bait inside the black canister, which is caught on tape and allows me to record their presence. One thing that hasn't been investigated is bias to this sampling method. For example, does the presence of a shark stop other fish from visiting the bait canister? That wasn't the case for this Fiddler Ray; however, he paid the price.
