The Lizard's View of Field Biologists

Ever wonder how our study animals view us? This photo of field biologist is taken with a wide angle lens at a nesting site of a female lizard at Royal National Park. These types of photos (minus the biologists) can be used to determine the amount sunlight and shade that reaches a nest site. This is important because in some lizards the temperature that they experience during their incubation in the nest will determine what sex they become.
